Every success story begins with a bold idea, a love for what is being done, and a combination of the best practices from various fields. It is important to be able to determine whose skills, knowledge, and abilities can be combined in order to make the seemingly incompatible work and achieve a result that becomes an expression for those who live an active lifestyle—due to its quality, style, and unobtrusiveness. In this respect, the story of Teiller is in no way different from the stories of other successful fashion brands. What makes it special is the fact that it stems from a desire for adrenaline, a drive to discover new horizons, and a love for nature that makes each of these endeavors all the more special and beautiful. The story of Teiller is a story of experiencing all the charms of freedom, the thrill of adrenaline, as well as the desire to act both sustainable and environmentally responsible.
As is the case with all success stories—teamwork is key. The team behind Teiller combines the best of both worlds: technical know-how as well as a minute eye for details.
As is the case with all success stories—teamwork is key. The team behind Teiller combines the best of both worlds: technical know-how as well as a minute eye for details. By combining these skill sets, the resulting end product reflects the persistent honing of both technical proficiency and design-savviness needed to present a product line of such a level of quality. The creators behind the story of Teiller are Nikola Djurek and Damir Belina. Nikola is one of the most well-respected graphic designers and typographers in the world, as well as a lecturer at several design schools. On the other hand, Damir has established himself as an entrepreneur, and his company Belina has become a leading producer of tarpaulins and tents, a processor of technical textiles, and a large-format digital printing facility. It is from this foundation that high-end design and sustainable, technical manufacturing are intertwined in order to offer the finest that the two spheres have to offer.
These are the characteristics that Teiller and its products boast. But taking one step backward, the question arises: How did it come to this story in the first place? The objective towards eco-friendliness and sustainability is one thing, but actually transforming this into reality is a completely different matter. While Nikola and Damir, the entrepreneurial duo, were lamenting about bags that they would like to carry, they realized that they had stumbled upon a matter which had been on their minds for quite some time—namely, the exact materials that their future bags would be made of. It didn’t take long for them to figure out that, no matter what, superior design, quality, and sustainability are the three factors that must come to the fore, and that their envisioned bags should boast precisely these features. This is how the idea that drove the development of our special accessories came about. This is the story of Teiller.
In order to ensure that the design and quality would be in line with current urban fashion trends, the duo decided to seek out a third opinion. They hired the famous fashion designer and outstanding artist Silvio Vujičić to help make the first bags come to life. While visiting the production facilities of the Belina company for the first time, where he would put his design skills to the test, Silvio’s curiosity was sparked. Among the necessary production waste, he found a piece of, as he saw it, tailored fabric. However, in reality, it was the remnant of the production process of a cover, or tarpaulin, for a large industrial tent. Silvio didn’t mind, and it wasn’t long before he victoriously proclaimed, “Here’s our first bag.” From that piece of fabric stemmed the “Mesh Harness” model.
Now you might be wondering: Tent tarpaulins? Well, they may not be the first material that comes to mind when you think of bags, but the creative trio wasn’t baffled for too long. After all, robustness and durability are quite essential factors for an active way of life. The material used for the bags which accompany you in this dynamic lifestyle simply must be able to keep up with that fierceness of freedom when it comes to their design and quality. Sustainability is the third aspect—the robust, almost indestructible material of tent tarpaulins resists the elements of nature and is, at the same time, fully in line with them. On the other hand, the bags are made of remnants from factory production. Parts that would otherwise be thrown away, and thus create unnecessary waste, are recycled in a practical and visually attractive way. Sustainable and environmentally friendly production is one of the ways in which a contribution to the protection of nature and all the beings that inhabit it can be made. Also—it is a completely new take on sophistication.
Teiller is a brand, as well as the manifestation of a particular way of life. The story of Teiller is therefore the story of a brand whose core values are embedded in the desire for independence, a transparent mode of production, as well as responsibility for nature and our planet.
The materials used in Teiller products are characterized by all the properties of what is needed for an active lifestyle—they are robust, waterproof, resistant to sunlight, and boast good properties when it comes to temperature oscillations. However, this is not surprising—these fabrics are actually technical textiles and materials used for large-scale tents. They are designed to protect everyone and everything underneath them, come rain or shine, as well as in harsh weather conditions, which is why their material characteristics must perform at the utmost level. In fact, the quality of these materials surpasses even the most stringent needs for fashion accessories, but it is known that it is better to be safe than sorry—especially when it comes to quality. Where possible, all joints are performed by welding instead of sewing, which is why the welds are ultimately stronger than the fabric itself. And just as the materials, the product manufacturing technology has stemmed from the tent tarpaulin industry. Thus, in an industrial environment, products are created that embody this mechanical world and simultaneously give it a touch of sustainable sophistication.
Teiller is a brand, as well as the manifestation of a particular way of life. The story of Teiller is therefore the story of a brand whose core values are embedded in the desire for independence, a transparent mode of production, as well as responsibility for nature and our planet. The highest standards in terms of the materials guarantee that the bags will be safe for both the nature from which they originate, as well as for the users who carry them. The industrial characteristics ensure that the production chain does not rest on resources of animal origin. All this results in robust and environmentally friendly products of incredibly high quality. After the material is machine-cut in accordance with the required dimensions, each subsequent step is performed manually. Sewing, welding, taking the final shape—each of these procedures can be awarded the certificate “Handmade in Europe.”
Seeing the fruit of their labor, the initiators of Teiller were not only satisfied, but proud to introduce their high-quality accessories to the world. They are confident that the effort, quality of materials, love for details, and eco-friendliness behind these statement pieces will be recognized by anyone who cares about a touch of relaxation, practicality, and comfort in life, but also the inevitable—and sometimes much-needed—dose of adrenaline whilst chasing the next sunset.
